Darien Little League: AAA Baseball

Boys    3rd    Baseball    House Team    Spring    Darien

About

“The AAA League is the first level of competitive baseball, although the focus continues to be on instruction and teaching the foundations of the game. There are required substitutions a running batting order and two innings of mandatory infield play. There is a minimum of 3 practices/games per week.  A hard baseball is used, and there is player-to-player pitching. This league introduces competitive play, and recognizes a league champion after an intra-league post-season playoff.

Some 8 year old 2nd grade players may be included in this league to fill a limited number of roster spots. A separate evaluation will be held in March for 8 year-old second graders.  Any 8 year-old 2nd graders selected to play in AAA will be selected on their skill level and roster availability.  All 3rd graders will participate in the first AAA evaluation in February.

Uniform & Equipment: DLL supplies team jersey and cap plus all equipment.  Players wear uniform pants and cleats and bring his/her own baseball glove and helmet with face cage.”

Look for registration beginning in November. The season typically starts in mid to late April and runs through early June.

According to DLL, AAA teams will have three events per week. You can expect games and practices on Thursday at 5:45pm, practices on Saturday mornings or afternoon, usually at 4pm, and games on Sunday mornings usually at 8:30am or in the afternoon usually at 4:30pm.
