Darien Youth Hockey Association: Travel Hockey

DYHA’s travel program runs from the beginning of September though mid-March. Practices and local games are held at Stamford Twin Rinks. They usually play 40-60 games per season. Expect two weeknight practices, two weekend games, three tournaments and the possibility of practices and games during February break.

Look for registration in January. Tryouts are in either March or April, depending on ages.

“Since 1972, Darien Youth Hockey has produced competitive travel teams from Mites to Midgets to girls-only teams. Although there are girls-only travel teams, all girls are welcome to try out for any team at the appropriate age level. 

At the Travel level, DYHA is committed to striking the right balance between striving to be among the most competitive program in its respective tiers in order to attract the strongest coaches and retain its strongest players, and remaining true to its commitment of being largely a community-based program.

Our Co-Ed DYHA travel program offers AA, A, A1 and B teams at the Squirt through Bantam Level and A, A1 and B teams as the Mite level. We also offer a split season for the Midget Major and Midget Minor players.”
