“Angelfish- This course is designed for beginners, helping your child feel comfortable in the water. Children learn to put their faces in the water, float, and kick, setting the foundation for successful swimming.
Swordfish: Children should be able to float (front and back) and put their heads under water and move forward while kicking with a kickboard. Swimmers work on floating, flutter kick, rotary breathing, retrieving objects and jumping into water over their heads.
Dolphin: Students should be able to swim freestyle and backstroke as they work more on these strokes with a focus on gliding and proper technique. Students are introduced to breaststroke and butterfly. Competitive diving will be covered.
Barracuda: Students should be fairly proficient at freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Barracuda is a very technical class that will prepare children for success on a pre-swim team/swim team.”
