While the biggest season for AAU basketball is the spring, local programs also have fall teams which play from September to early November. In general, you can expect two practices during the week and three or more games during weekend tournaments at various locations in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. High Rise Basketball
Located in Stamford, High Rise fields teams for boys in grades 3rd through 9th grade and girls in grades 4th through 9th grade. Register for tryouts here. Makeup tryouts will be held on Monday, August 19th for those who are out of town for the main tryouts.
Boys tryouts will be held on Monday, August 12th and Tuesday, August 13th for 5th graders (4:15-5:30pm), 6th graders (5:45-7pm), 7th graders (7:15-8:15pm), 8th graders (8:30-9:30pm) and Wednesday, August 14th and Thursday, August 15th for 3rd and 4th graders (4:15-5:30pm).
Girls tryouts will be held on Wednesday, August 14th and Thursday, August 15th for 4th-6th graders (5:45-7pm), 7th and 8th graders (7:15-8:15pm) and 9th graders (8:30-9:30pm).
Stamford J Basketball / Peace
Located at the Stamford JCC, this program has teams for boys in 3rd through 9th grade. Register for tryouts here.
Boys tryouts will be held on Monday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 6 for 3rd and 4th graders (4:30-5:45pm) and 5th and 6th graders (6-7:15pm); on Wednesday, August 7 and Thursday, August 8 for 7th graders (4:30-5:45pm) and 8th graders (6-7:15pm); and on Sunday August 11 they will hold call back and make up tryouts for those who were not able to attend the previous tryouts.
6th Boro Hoops
Based in Greenwich, this program rosters fall AAU teams for boys in 3rd through 10th grade. Register for tryouts here.
Boys tryouts are being held on July 29th and August 1st for 3rd-5th graders (6-7:15pm) and 6th-10th graders (7:30pm-8:45pm).
Greenwich Stars
This program, in its 16th year is based in Greenwich and offers teams for boys and girls in 2nd grade through 10th grade. Tryouts are being held at various times from August 11 through September 8. See specific dates and times for each age group and register here.
