Calling all Darien softball players: Register now to try out for the Darien Diamonds Travel teams.
Tryouts for the Darien Diamonds Travel Softball 2025-2026 season will take place on Sunday June 8th, 10am-2pm (see specific time slot information below) at Bobby Valentines Sports Academy.
Tryout registration is OPEN NOW and will close on May 31st, 2025. $25 tryout fee to cover evaluator and facility costs.
Tryout Information:
10:00-10:50: Girls born between September 1, 2012 and December 31, 2014 (12U – primarily 6th-7th graders next school year)
11:00-11:50: Girls born between September 1, 2014 and December 31, 2015 (10U – primarily 5th graders next school year)
12:00-12:50: Girls born between September 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016 (9U – primarily 4th graders next school year)
1:00-1:50: Girls born after September 1, 2016 (8U – primarily 3rd graders next school year)

Please drop-off and return at pick-up time. While there will be limited parent volunteers present for administrative purposes, evaluations will be run solely by paid coaches. Players should bring with them their bat, batting helmet, glove and face mask.

Players with September 1 – December 31 tryouts can choose which tryout they would like to attend.

Commitments:
Our teams play year-round with Spring being our primary season. Fall and Winter are used as developmental seasons to prepare for Spring. If trying out for travel Softball, this should be your ‘primary’ Spring sport.
September – early November: Expect one practice/week and 1-2 games/weekend, 1-2 tournaments for 10U and 12U
November – March: One weekday practice in the McGuane batting cages, additional clinics offered
April – June/July: Primary season. 1 practice/week plus weekend games/tournaments. Travel players must also participate in the DLL House Softball program.
